Comparative Study Of Islamic Commercial Bank Efficiency Before & During Pandemic Covid-19: Evidence From Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam
Goal : This study aims to measure and analyze the level of efficiency of
Islamic banking in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam
before and during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Method : Using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, this study
measures the efficiency of Islamic banking in Indonesia, Malaysia,
and Brunei Darussalam from 2016-2020.
Finding : The results of this study indicate that the efficiency of Islamic banks
in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam experiences
fluctuating trends. In comparison, Islamic banks in Malaysia have a
higher efficiency trend than Islamic banks in Indonesia and Brunei
Darussalam. In addition, this study found that the efficiency of
Islamic banks in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam was
better before the Covid-19 pandemic than during the Covid-19
pandemic. This research also provides potential improvements to
improve banking efficiency
