" This study aims to examine the amendment of
the minimum marriage age in of Law No. 16
of 2019 and analyze its compatibility with the
principle of Maslahah Mursalah in Islamic
law.
: The research uses a normative qualitative
method with statutory and conceptual
approaches, based on literature review of
legal regulations and Islamic legal sources.
: The increase in the legal marriage age from
16 to 19 years is considered to bring public
benefit, as it helps prevent child marriage and
its negative impacts, such as divorce, domestic
violence, and health issues, and aligns with
child protection values in both Islamic and
national law.
