Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between variables in the
Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) and Technical Acceptance Model (TAM) models
and the preferences of young households in choosing sharia insurance in the
Jabodetabek area. This research also measures the spirituality factor which
moderates the influence of TPB and TAM on young households' preferences in
choosing sharia insurance in the Jabodetabek area.
Method: This research is a quantitative research using the Structural Equation
Model Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with primary data taken using random
techniques via gform among young household couple respondents in the
Jabodetabek area.
Fact/Finding: Variables in TPB theory, attitudes towards behavior, subjective
norms and behavioral control have a significant influence on young households'
preferences for choosing sharia insurance. Variables in TAM theory related to
technological advances in digital applications and Insurtech, including perceived
usefulness, perceived ease to use, behavioral intention to use have not been able to
have a significant influence on young households' preferences for choosing sharia
insurance. The religiosity factor has a positive influence on young households'
preferences in choosing sharia insurance, but does not moderate the influence of
TPB and TAM on young households' preferences in choosing sharia insurance.
